  I was impressed by part of today's symposium entitled ' Safeguard your children from what is evil'

  well i have to give credit where credit is due.

  it was the part of today's symposium - build a house that will endure.

  the part i was most impressed with was 'safeguard your children from "what is evil".

  The problem with their approach is that they put the onus squarely on the parents to safeguard their kids, effectively disavowing any responsibility of the so-called shepherds to be vigilant and aggressively pursue any allegation .

  The parents, of course, aren't privy to what the elders know about anyone in the congregation with a prior history of child molestation, nor are the elders ordered to be proactive in protecting their flock, including reporting any credible allegation to the police for investigation.

  maybe it's complete in light of this sundays wt study...“what you vow, pay”.

  it is all about paying your vows and especially focuses on three types.. 1 your dedication vow (baptism).

  2 your marriage vow.

  CLAM Video - re Erich Frost (Apr 17-23 2017)

  i normally don't bother going to the midweek jw meetings much.

  however, upon reading in the april 2017 meeting workbook that there was to be a video about erich frost (former do for saxony & nazi prisoner in sachsenhausen concentration camp) i wanted to attend as i had read about this brother in history texts by detlef garbe and hans hesse.

  i had also visited auschwitz several times and noted that the museum had a display / exhibition about jehovah's witnesses.

  It would seem a deliberate omission not to credit Steyer as the artist who created the watercolors. Maybe he fell out of favor and is now officially a non-person in JW land.

  Does the Average R&F JW understand what grace is in Christianity ?

  i`m showing my ignorance here , not being an active member of any church before joining jw`s as a 19 yr old ,whenever i was ever confronted with the question of "grace" i was always at a loss to give an effective answer from a jw point of view.. was it just me ?

  or did anybody else have a similar experience ?.

  (ps , i dont think i ever heard the expression " grace" in a religious sense in all my 33 years in the borg.studying the wt.).
